WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
Enjoy a day connecting deeply to the wisdom of compassion found in meditation’s stillness and journaling’s self-reflection.  Discover how they both open you to a deep place where you can quiet the mind and open the heart.  Once there--sitting with compassion or writing into it--you will practice approaching even the unpleasant with loving acceptance.  Throughout the day, we will alternate private writing periods with group sessions that combine short meditation, discussion and writing exercises.  Poetry, wise quotes, stretch breaks and personal sharing will be woven into the day as well.  Plan to bring a sack lunch.

The workshop is open to all levels of experience with meditation or writing.  You'll learn creative techniques for listening to your inner voice, exploring personal stories and myths, opening up to the healing power of emotions, and letting the words flow.  You’ll also come away with tools for beginning and/or enhancing your own writing practice.

Come contemplate insights discovered through writing, revel in the wisdom of the creative process and the stillness of meditation, share your personal stories, and relax during the process.
