Welcome, writers.

This site is designed to give an overview of the workshops, classes, talks and private critiques I facilitate.  It also provides links to the programs I currently teach in, including Write by the Lake, the Department of Continuing Studies at UW-Madison, and The Writers' Institute.

Craft & Critique, Spring 2008

It popped onto the net Monday, January 28th, in infant stage.  It's grown quickly and seems to have developed an on-again, off-again interest in photography, a little preoccupation with attention deficit, a propensity towards verbosity and rambling descriptions of classes, as well as an apathy for spelling (as is the case with the youth of today).

                     Journaling Retreat, Winter 2008

It has a lot of ideas of what it wants to grow up to be: a newsletter featuring the accomplishments of all students of Angela's classes; a wanna-be literary journal entitled Second Wind that features published poems of workshop participants; a resource for writers who want to learn more about craft; a source for writers to go to for updates and the calendar of upcoming classes; and even more.

It's also toying with entering into an early, pre-pubescent relationship w/a blog, but it's still jittery and nervous, and when it so much as thinks about it seems to lose touch with all hope for grounding altogether, and floats off into the electric ether of what it would feel like to be infinite, awkwardly attempting to stretch undeveloped, unfinished pathways just beginning to spark and sputter with the urge to be linked.

Please forgive it for its occasional sprawl of misplaced text blocks, sporadic, overwraoght enthusiasm for photos, slight bouts of embarrassment over naked corners, awkward color schemes, the snarls and snags of broken links, and share in its hope that Google will soon allow a spellcheck feature to be installed on all of its websites.

For those of you who have taken my workshops in the past, you'll notice I have a different email address to link to on this website.  Both my wiscmail email and my gmail account are active.

I hope this site will be of use to you.  May it help give you tools to deepen your connection with poetry.

Warmly,

Angela
